1. Who we are
BlanketBuddy is operated by Jessica Rogers ("we," "us," "our"), an individual based in Connecticut, United States. If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, contact us at support@blanketbuddyapp.com.
2. What information we collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and password, or, if you use Sign in with Apple, the information Apple provides to us (which may be a real or Apple-generated relay email address, and your name if you choose to share it).
Horse and barn information you provide. This includes horse names, breed, age, colors/identifiers, blanket inventory and care plan settings (temperature ranges and blanket types you assign), notes you add, and your barn's location (city/zip code, used to retrieve weather for your barn).
Currently Wearing and History data. We record what blanket each horse is currently wearing, when you change it, and a history of those changes, including whether a change matched or differed from what BlanketBuddy recommended.
Location. We use the barn location you enter (city or zip code) to retrieve weather forecasts relevant to your horses. We do not continuously track your device's GPS location in the background.
Subscription and payment information. If you subscribe to BlanketBuddy, payment is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your credit card or payment details. We receive limited subscription status information from Apple and our subscription management provider, RevenueCat.
Push notifications. If you enable notifications, we store a device token so we can send you blanket-change reminders and alerts.
Automatically collected information. We may use standard crash reporting and analytics tools to understand app stability and usage patterns. We do not use this information to identify you personally beyond what's needed to fix problems.
3. How we use your information
- Provide blanket recommendations based on your horses' care plans and local weather
- Let you record and track what your horses are actually wearing, and maintain a history of changes
- Send you notifications about recommended blanket changes, if enabled
- Process and manage your subscription
- Maintain, secure, and improve the app
- Respond to support requests
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Who we share information with
- Apple — for authentication (Sign in with Apple), payment processing, and push notification delivery.
- RevenueCat — to manage and verify subscription status.
- Weather data providers — we send your barn's location (city/zip level) to a third-party weather service to retrieve forecasts.
- Service providers who help us operate the app, under obligations to protect your data.
- Law enforcement or legal process, if required by law.
We do not share your horse or barn data with other users unless you explicitly choose to.
5. Data retention
Account and horse data is kept for as long as your account is active. History entries are shown in the app for 30 days, kept in storage for up to 90 days total, and permanently deleted after that. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where required to retain limited records for legal or accounting purposes.
6. Your choices
- Edit or delete horse and account information within the app
- Disable notifications in your device settings or in-app
- Cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings
- Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us
7. Children's privacy
BlanketBuddy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of BlanketBuddy after changes means you accept the updated policy.
